Returns, Refunds & Faulty Goods
Last updated: 9 September 2026.
This policy is for consumers buying through the TechEncore online store. It is intended to explain your rights in plain language and does not limit statutory rights.
Changing your mind
For most goods bought online, you have 14 days after the goods are delivered to tell us you want to cancel, without giving a reason. After telling us, you normally have a further 14 days to send the goods back. Legal exceptions apply to some products and circumstances.
To cancel, contact us with your order number and a clear statement that you wish to cancel. You can also use the model cancellation form below.
Model cancellation form
To: TechEncore / the legal seller shown in our Terms & Conditions
I give notice that I cancel my contract of sale for the following goods: ____________________
Ordered on / received on: ____________________
Order number: ____________________
Name: ____________________
Address: ____________________
Date: ____________________
You do not have to use this form; any clear statement of cancellation is sufficient.
Looking after a return
You may handle goods only as reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning, broadly as you could in a shop. Please return the item with the accessories and other items supplied with it. Where the law allows, we may reduce a refund to reflect diminished value caused by handling beyond what is necessary.
Refunds and original delivery cost
For a valid statutory cancellation, we refund the payments due under the cancellation rules, including the cost of our least-expensive standard delivery option where applicable. If you chose a more expensive delivery method, the additional delivery cost is not normally refundable. Where permitted, we may wait to refund until we receive the goods back or you provide evidence that you sent them back.
Refunds are made using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed and within the applicable statutory time limit.
Return postage for change-of-mind returns
You are responsible for the direct cost of returning a change-of-mind item where the law permits this and we informed you of that responsibility before purchase. This does not apply in the same way when goods are faulty, misdescribed or otherwise fail to conform to the contract.
Faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods
Goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose where applicable and as described. If goods do not conform to the contract, UK consumer law can provide remedies including a short-term right to reject in qualifying cases and, depending on the circumstances, repair, replacement, price reduction or refund.
Please contact us with your order number and a description of the problem. We may ask for reasonable photographs or diagnostic information to help understand the issue, but this does not remove your legal rights.
Commercial warranties
If we provide a commercial warranty, its duration and conditions will be stated on the product listing, order documentation or warranty information supplied with the item. A commercial warranty is additional to your statutory rights and does not replace them.
Exceptions
Some goods are excluded from the statutory change-of-mind cancellation right. We will rely on an exception only where it legally applies and the required information has been provided. Your rights concerning faulty or misdescribed goods are separate.
